Archaeology

We have worked in partnership with Canterbury Archaeological Trust on several community archaeology days on site. These formed part of our pre-planning investigations.

Joined by volunteers, we have so far uncovered part of the city wall and remains of cottages previously on the site. We have also held two Cleaning and Identifying Finds sessions so far and Canterbury Archaeological Trust will be pulling all the information into a report about the site.

A desk-based report was prepared for The Abbot’s Mill Project by Canterbury Archaeological Trust.
